Ratcliffe regularly enjoys superb examination results, with 97% of students achieving at least 5 A* to C grades at GSCE and 94% of A-Level students achieving A* - C grades.
Although academic rigour is prized, the school puts great emphasis on a rounded education and offers a broad and balanced curriculum from Nursery age through to Sixth Form.
Students are encouraged to grow to their full potential in all areas of school life in a supportive and friendly atmosphere that allows pupils to fulfil their aspirations and have their individual needs met.
Extra-curricular activities play an important role in school life, and students have the opportunity to take part in an enormous variety of sports and activities at lunchtimes, after school and at weekends.
Pupils can take part in everything from Film Club to Voluntary Service, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, choirs and extra language classes, as well as taking part in competitive tournaments as part of the netball, rugby or hockey teams.
Boarding is available at Ratcliffe from age 9 onwards, and pupils settle in quickly to the friendly family atmosphere in their boarding house.
Boarding pupils develop life skills such as team work, community spirit and personal responsibility while enjoying the fun of boarding life.
Trips and activities keep students busy during term-time, with additional support available for international students to help them adjust to life in England.
A team of dedicated and highly experienced staff oversees boarding pupils and offers academic and pastoral support during their time at the school.
