Girls educated at Roedean will see themselves as global citizens, as ready to pursue a career in New York or Singapore as London.
Roedean enjoys an outstanding record in GSCE and A-Level results, and its pupils are regularly accepted to the top universities in the UK and USA.
Each girl's academic programme is carefully considered to suit her individual abilities and interests, and all students have a personal tutor to support them.
Students who excel at particular subjects are encouraged to sit further Advanced Extension Awards or to attend university-level classes in partnership with the University of Sussex.
However, while academic excellence is highly prized, Roedean provides a friendly, supportive environment where working hard and having fun are strongly emphasised.
Life outside class is an exciting whirlwind of activities. During their time at Roedean, the girls can participate in everything from music festivals to team sport and charity fundraising, and there is a full weekend programme of trips and visits.
Roedean has a long tradition of boarding education and offers full boarding, weekly and flexible boarding options. In 2013, a £9m refurbishment of the boarding houses (200 bedrooms, studies and common rooms) will be completed, which will set a new standard for boarding in the UK.
The boarding experience encourages highly developed personal and social skills and is excellent preparation for independent living.
Girls are cared for in each House by a Head of House who leads a team of residential staff.
The family atmosphere in the Houses means that older girls look after the younger ones, and a strong loyalty to their House quickly develops.
Sixth Formers have dedicated accommodation in Keswick House, which feels more like a university hall than a private boarding school with its own cafe, study and social facilities.
