The school was founded in London in March 2020 to create a school dedicated to helping students affected by the pandemic.
In 2021, Copperfield relocated to Verbier, Switzerland to offer a world-class education in the Swiss Alps. It quickly gained accreditation for IB and Cambridge programs.
In 2023, it joined the Dukes Education Group, expanding opportunities for students and parents. Students at Copperfield now benefit from international exchange opportunities, sports competitions, and access to Dukes' world-class career counseling and college placement services. Copperfield International School offers a comprehensive academic curriculum that prepares students for success in higher education and beyond. The school offers:
IB Primary Years Progamme for students ages 5-11, which focuses on inquiry-based, transdisciplinary learning. PYP students have been shown to outperform their peers in math, reading, and writing.
MYP or Middle Years Programme for students aged 11-16 focusing on a holistic education, international mindedness, eight subject groups, concept-driven learning and skills for learning.

Copperfield has ski and snowboard programs for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Students can learn basic skills, explore off-piste terrain, or compete in races.
In addition to winter sports, the school also provides opportunities for students to participate in football, lacrosse, tennis, golf, swimming, horse riding, dance and more. The Alps is a playground for sport.
With a variety of clubs and activities on offer both after school and on weekends, there is always something new and exciting for students to explore. Art, clubs, an annual theatre production and the opportunity to learn a musical instrument balance academic and sport with creativity. In addition there are many boarding events at weekends, trips and competitions for students.

The school runs winter and summer camps for students of all ages. Winter camps run during the Easter holiday for both day students and boarders, while summer camps offer a variety of activities, including sports, arts, and excursions for children of all ages and boarders from 13-17 years from one-week length between the end of June and the end of July.
