The Chedi Andermatt is tucked at the centre of the Alps, towering like a Goliath and surrounded by wild waterfalls, peaks of the Saint-Gotthard Massif, quiet mountain lakes and deep canyons.
It is built at the crossroads of three mountain passes in Urserental and it’s about 850m from the Gemsstock Cable Car.
The village can be reached through the St. Gotthard Pass, the Oberalp Pass, and the Furka Pass.
Guests can get to the hotel from Munich or Stuttgart within four hours, Zurich in 90 minutes and two hours from Milan.
Generally, the Chedi Andermatt features a blend of Asian elegance and traditional Swiss hospitality.
It was designed by architect Jean-Michel Gathy, who creating opulent 105 rooms and a 330 m2 luxurious Furka suite on two floors with its Jacuzzi, sauna, and steam bath, which can accommodate six people.
Each room has the Gathy's signature Asian-Alpine blend featuring wood, leather, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, minibars, iPad, built-in fireplaces and DVD players.
The upgraded suites have mountain views and seating areas.
An iPad controls heating curtains, lighting and gas fires in the rooms.
Guests can easily ’get lost’ in the 2400m2 stretched spa, which is equipped with steam rooms, hydrotherapy pools, multiple treatment rooms, a plunge pool, and saunas.
The 60-minute Alpine massage is one of the spa’s best-kept secrets.
Afterwards, guests can take a dip in a 35-metre indoor or a 12-metre heated outdoor pool, sipping champagne and watching through the vast glass windows.
One of the most significant gifts for guests is an allocation of a ski butler to help with their skis.
The hotels boast of The Japanese Restaurant, a restaurant with chandeliers, and a lobby bar with a fireplace, The Wine and Cheese Cellar and The Wine and Cigar Library, and an outdoor lounge with fires.
The restaurant serves schnitzel to the satisfaction of the guests without weeping when they see the bill.
Guests wake up to a delicious buffet breakfast to start a beautiful day.
There is access for disabled guests, who are provided with one deluxe room and one grand, elegant room that is adapted for wheelchair access.
During the summer, the 18-hole championship golf course, horse riding, cycling tours, fishing, tennis, and hikes are some of the activities that keep guests busy.
There is a hotel limousine service and a fleet of Audis to pick you from the slopes.
