The Castello del Sole is located on park grounds in Ascona on the banks of Lake Maggiore.

Francesco Orelli had the castle complex built in 1532 to house the persecuted Protestants. It has been renovated to incorporate 21st century luxuries while maintaining ties to its old-world charm.
