Domaine De Primard

The property houses the world-famous Primard Gardens, a lush leafy oasis surrounded by the smooth flowing waters of the Eure River.

Esteemed landscape artist Jacques Wirtz (of Carrousel Gardens by the Louvre fame) pruned the project 35 years ago in his signature style—picture orderly hedge structures and undulating boxwood topiaries.

It’s home to over 250 species of roses and countless blooming perennials, a must for every horticulture enthusiast.

Getting there from Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport will take you one hour and 10 minutes by road.

Its 31 rooms and nine suites split between the agriculture building, the noble house, a traditional Longère and the old woolshed.

Although you’ll need to walk some distance between the hotel facilities and your room, the purpose-built layout ensures you enjoy plenty of pleasant garden strolls.

Silverscreen superstar Catherine Deneuve used to own the palatial estate, filling the property with her unique taste in old-world antiques. Nowadays, the interiors reflect a more contemporary style, with bright modern artworks and uncrowded whitewashed walls.
