Domaine de Primard resides in Guainville, a laidback rural commune about an hour west of Paris. The property is famous for the Primard Gardens, a leafy oasis fringed by the tranquil waters of the Eure.

Renowed landscape artist Jacques Wirtz (who pruned the Carrousel Gardens by the Louvre) began the visionary project over 35 years ago, incorporating his signature Ancien Régime style—think undulating boxwood topiaries and orderly hedge structures.

Home to vibrant perennials and over 250 varieties of roses, Primard is a must any passionate gardener.

Reception will happily organise activities in the region: canoe trips, golf, hiking, meditation, history tours, etc.

The closest airports are Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Le Bourget, all 50 minutes away.

The estate has been designed in the typical 18th-century Ancien Régime style—it’s a living example of French classicism and orderliness.

Thirty one rooms and nine sumptuous suites lie scattered between the noble house, agriculture buildings, an old woodshed and a traditional Longère.

You may need to walk some distance between the restaurant, spa, and your room. But that’s not a bad thing—pleasant garden strolls are what this property is all about.

On the ground floor, you’ll find a steamy hammam and sauna, plus bubbling hot and cold Jacuzzis. Meander upstairs, and you’ll encounter four massage rooms, where highly skilled hands administer rejuvenating treatments using natural plants sourced from the Austrian Alps.

There’s also a well-equipped gym and coaching room to crush your fitness goals.

Food & Drinks

Michelin-star-studded chef Éric Fréchon is the mastermind behind Primard’s gastronomic delights, where ecological sustainability and seasonal produce sit at the forefront.

Wherever possible, head chef Yann Meinsel sources fresh fruit and vegetables direct from the in-house organic garden.

Domaine de Primard offers a trio of elegant eateries to choose from: Églantine (French gourmet), Octave (bistrot), and La Cuisine du Château (private dining).
