Location:
The Walig Hut resides nearby the Gstaad Palace, a palatial five-star property in the town of the same name. Nestled high in the Swiss Alps, it’s a mecca for skiers during winter and a haven for hikers once the snow melts.
The Gstaad Airport in Saanen Airport and Train Station are only an eight-minute drive away.
Property:
Constructed in 1783, this authentic alpine chalet maintains the beauty and elegance of yesteryear; its traditional design elements remain firmly intact. The former farmstead has undergone minor renovations over the years, enhancing the lux-factor yet ensuring its old-world charm remains unchanged. The gorgeous timber chalet features a rich wooden frame, big scenic balconies, and a cosy, snug interior—all the typical hallmarks of a traditional Swiss chalet.
A team of skilled culinary craftsmen is on-hand to prepare a delicious three-course meal come dinner time, best washed down with a generous serving of fine Swiss wine. Either dine in the antique-clad stube or al fresco on the terrace to savour those magnificent mountain views.
Elegant furnishings and alpine décor define the interiors; there are two bedrooms to sleep up to four guests (2 adults and 2 children). The smaller room is located above the main bedroom and be reached via a small staircase.
The Walig Hut can be booked for 2 nights maximum to enjoy fully the authentic experience, which includes a traditional bathroom of the alpine huts.
Spa & Wellness:
The Walig Hut guests get access to the world-class Spa amenities of the Gstaad Palace at extra cost. An indoor pool, and a bliss-inducing 1,800 m2 spa—a hammam, sauna, massage, beauty treatments, and more—lie just a leisurely stroll away.
If you fancy getting active, you’ll find squash courts and a fitness center there as well.
